Do you create custom costumes or off-the-rack designs?
All Royal Dancewear costumes are custom made. Each design is created specifically for your dancer, based on their measurements, music, style and colour preferences.
How does the ordering process work?
Once you enquire, I’ll ask a few key questions about your dancer’s routine, style, colours and inspiration. After the design is approved, a deposit is taken and your costume is added to the production schedule.
How long does a custom costume take to be made?
Design time takes up to one week once started. Production time varies depending on complexity and workload, but most costumes are completed within 3–4 weeks. Rush orders may be available depending on availability.
Is a deposit required?
Yes. A $100 non-refundable deposit per costume is required once the design has been approved. This secures your booking and covers design time and materials.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes. Payment plans are available to help make custom costumes more accessible. Full payment must be completed before the costume is released.
Are discounts available?
Yes.

What fabrics and embellishments do you use?
All costumes are made using premium performance fabrics, are double-lined for comfort and durability, and finished with high-quality crystal rhinestones for stage impact.
Will the costume be made to my child’s exact measurements?
Yes. Every costume is created from your dancer’s individual measurements to ensure the best possible fit and comfort on stage.
Can you recreate a costume I’ve seen online?
I’m happy to take inspiration from reference images, but all designs are original Royal Dancewear creations. Exact replicas of other designers’ work are not produced.
Do you make group or troupe costumes?
Yes, subject to availability. Please enquire early for group orders, as they require additional design and production time.
What happens if my dancer grows before the competition?
While minor adjustments can sometimes be made, growth changes are not guaranteed to be accommodated. I recommend booking with adequate lead time and providing the most accurate measurements possible.
Do you offer refunds or returns?
Due to the custom nature of each costume, refunds and returns are not available. Please refer to our full Returns & Refunds Policy for more information.
How do I enquire or place an order?
You can contact Royal Dancewear via the contact form on the website, Instagram DM, or email. I recommend enquiring early as bookings are limited.
Competition Season FAQs
When should I book my costume for competition season?
Competition season fills quickly. I recommend enquiring as early as possible, ideally 6–8 weeks before your first competition, to allow adequate time for design, production and any minor adjustments.
Do you have limited availability during comp season?
Yes. To maintain quality and turnaround times, bookings are limited during peak competition periods. Once spots are filled, bookings will close.
Can you guarantee my costume will be ready for my competition date?
Completion dates are discussed prior to confirming your order. While every effort is made to meet agreed timelines, timely responses, approved designs, accurate measurements and on-time payments are essential to keep your order on schedule.
Do you offer rush orders?
Rush orders may be available at my discretion, depending on current workload. Additional fees may apply. Please enquire as early as possible if you require a fast turnaround.
What if my competition date changes?
Please notify Royal Dancewear immediately if your competition date changes. While I will do my best to accommodate changes, adjustments to timelines cannot be guaranteed once production has begun.
Can alterations be made once the costume is finished?
Minor alterations may be possible, depending on the design and timeframe. Alterations are not guaranteed during peak comp season.
What happens if I order late and miss my competition?
Royal Dancewear is not responsible for missed competitions due to late enquiries, delayed approvals, inaccurate measurements or outstanding payments. Production timelines begin only once the design is approved and deposit is received.
Will my costume be exclusive?
Yes. Royal Dancewear aims to ensure design exclusivity so your dancer stands out on stage. Designs will not be duplicated for the same competition where possible.
How should the costume be cared for during comp season?
Costumes should be hand washed gently in cold water, laid flat to dry and stored carefully between competitions. Avoid excessive heat, friction or machine washing to preserve embellishments.
Can you match costumes for siblings or duos?
Yes. Coordinated designs for duos, trios or siblings are available. Please note that additional design time may be required.
What if my dancer needs a backup costume?
If you are ordering a backup costume, please let me know during your enquiry so appropriate time can be allocated.
